Executive Assistant to Vice President of Advancement

The Executive Assistant provides efficient, effective and at times confidential administrative support to the Vice President for Advancement of Pomona College, and secondary support to the Director of Development, Assistant Secretary to the Board. The Executive Assistant will work to ensure that the Vice President receives the highest level of operational and strategic support possible. The Executive Assistant increases the bandwidth and velocity of the Vice President in such a way as to concentrate their time, effort and priorities on the strategic initiatives of Pomona College.
The Advancement Division is a comprehensive development, alumni relations, advancement communication and events, and advancement services enterprise. Pomona Advancement's mission is to build strong, lifelong relationships with Pomona College's constituents, match donors' interests with the College’s needs and priorities, and secure the financial resources necessary for Pomona to achieve excellence in teaching, research, and scholarship. Pomona is in the pre-campaign planning for the most ambitious fundraising campaign in the College’s history.
The Executive Assistant is responsible for interfacing with other college departments, facilitating the Vice President's activities, managing the administrative workflow within the office, and interacting frequently with the President's Office, the offices of the executive leadership of the College, and the Board of Trustees.
The Executive Assistant manages the range of support responsibilities required, including: calendar, travel, project management, work flow, division communications, event and visit briefings, staff and performance management support; support project and office management facilitating the operations of the Advancement division, work flow, task assignment for administrative assistant staff when necessary, and timely execution of projects and deadlines; monitoring departmental budgets and expenditures; and provides administrative support to the Board committees staffed by the Vice President of Advancement (Advancement Committee and Trusteeship Committee), including coordination and collaboration with the Secretary to the Board and the Board Assistant Secretaries.
The Executive Assistant also provides administrative support for the Director of Development, Assistant Secretary to the Board in support of the Advancement Division’s goals
