JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the general direction of the Chief of the Cardiology, the Research Associate will oversee scientific-research programs and research-projects focused on the Cardiovascular Service Line. Duties of this position include but are not limited to; liaising with appropriate departments and policies involving any potential patent development licensing issues to spin-off technologies that will arise from programmatic research findings. This position will also interact with big-pharma leaders on all matters related to research and ensure proper organizational compliance, and strategic initiatives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participates in the teaching program with cardiology fellows, and grant writing and submission.
Creates novel research concepts and carry out the research and ensures proper implementation.
Manages and direct the programs research scientist team with respect to conceptual research projects, aiming to translate into clinical utility.
Maintains, organize, renews, and updates all protocols within the Department of Cardiology.
Develops research proposals based on novel scientific data and Interact with multiple cross-disciplinary investigators from multiple organizations, both national and international.
Supports clinical supervision of the cardiovascular in-house researchers and collaborate with departmental administrative supervisor.
Interacts with the appropriate stakeholders with respect to collaborations, grants office and research personnel to oversee research grants, budget modifications and adjustments to scopes of work.
Provides supervision, mentoring, guidance and leadership on scientific and research matters as well as research activities to assigned staff.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
